Harp Fee Survey Conducted September 2009

SOPHIA conducted a survey of fees charged by harpists and harpers in the Tucson area. We asked area harp performers to complete the following questions:

Gigs:
I charge the following for a wedding (prelude music, ceremony):
The average charged is 265.83. Highest rate is $300, lowest rate is $220. We had 6 responses.

I charge the following for a special occasion, per hour:
The average charged for a flat rate is $118.75. Highest flat rate is $200, lowest flat rate is $50. We had 4 responses.

Some people charge a larger rate for time up to 1 hour, then another rate for subsequent hours. The average for this fee scheme is $158.33 + $75. Highest was $175 + $100, lowest was $125 + $50. We had 3 responses.

Lessons:
Typically, I charge ___ per hour and ___ per half hour.
The average charged for an hour is $43. Highest rate is $60, lowest rate is $25. We had 5 responses.

The average charged for a half hour is $28.33. Highest rate is $30, lowest rate is $20. We had 3 responses.
